JetBlue 24-hour cancellation policy
JetBlue’s Cancellation Policy states that a cancellation fee is charged to the passenger’s account if they cancel tickets after the 24-hour window.
JetBlue Airline will deduct an amount as a cancellation fee if the traveler does not catch the flight on time. The route of the passengers also plays a vital role in the decision of the cancellation fee charged by the airline.
Under this cancellation policy, the passenger traveling with the Blue Basic Fare Class cannot cancel the tickets. If they cancel, no refund is assigned to them.
In accordance with JetBlue’s cancellation policy, a passenger will save $ 25 by choosing the online cancellation process.
When a passenger flies in Blue Extra Fare class, they will receive a full refund from the airline and the refund will start within three weeks.
No cancellation fee will be charged if the airline cancels flights due to corporate factors. Compensation will be allowed to all passengers, even if they have a Basic Economy Fare or non-refundable ticket.
The passenger will receive 75 USD if the reservation ticket is not confirmed according to JetBlue’s cancellation policy.
JetBlue Change & Cancellation Policy
JetBlue Airways allows travel agents to void tickets within one (1) business day of ticket issuance. Outside of one (1) business day, JetBlue will charge a change penalty for all voluntary changes for most advance purchase rates (see table below). It is the travel agent’s responsibility to adequately inform clients of additional fee charges, restrictions and fees associated with any changes.
After issuing the first fare waiver policy among major U.S. airlines, JetBlue has expanded its policy to passengers with existing itineraries and the next scheduled departures to begin through June 30, 2020, are now included in JetBlue’s fee waiver program. Flights can be rebooked for travel until January 4, 2021.
Additionally, customers who purchased tickets between now and April 30, 2020 can cancel or change flights free of charge to travel through January 4, 2021. Tickets purchased between March 6 and March 26, 2020 can be rebooked until September 8, 2020.
Cancellations will be refunded as a credit to the passenger’s JetBlue Travel Bank and will be valid for two years on future JetBlue travel. Refunds apply to all fares, including JetBlue’s most restrictive Blue Basic fares as well as JetBlue Vacation Packages booked with the airline. Changed tickets will still be subject to the cost of the fare difference and only one new reservation is allowed.
Flights purchased with JetBlue points will be credited at no charge. However, taxes paid for award tickets will be credited to the customer’s Travel Bank.
New and Existing Reservations:
Customers can change or cancel tickets booked through March 31, 2021 at no charge, although one change will only be allowed for existing tickets changed after that date.
If passengers rebook flights, they may have to pay the difference in cost between the original ticket and the new fare. If customers cancel their trip or move to a lower cost flight, JetBlue will issue a credit valid for 12 months.
Additionally, JetBlue has eliminated change fees for most tickets on an ongoing basis, excluding Blue Basic fees.
Award Tickets:
JetBlue is waiving the JetBlue point redemption fee on award tickets covered by its current waivers.
